The boards that run the length need to meet on a post. Plan your post locations so they match the board length. Not only does it look bad, you loose a lot of strength. Keep the distance between posts short for more strength. For extra strength cut a notch in the post for the boards to set into (set the posts first so they line up). ALWAYS use rot resistant wood for the posts (Redwood, Pressure treated...)
How NOT to Build
Before you build (or repair) something be sure you think through - How will it be used? Where will it be used? Who will use it? Is it safe? This blog will show what was done wrong and how it should be corrected.

How NOT to wire

It is always best to let a professional do electrical work (if you do something wrong you may need a new house)!
